Sheetmetal engineering firm G & A Harris Ltd has been around for sixty years but is enjoying a new lease of life at Portlink Industrial Park, according to Neil Walker, co-owner of the company. “We were pretty crammed in at our previous building but here we have had the opportunity to set things up the way we want to get things flowing well”, said Walker.
G & A Harris Ltd’s former premises in Wickham St, Bromley suffered earthquake damage, and Walker identified location as a key factor in choosing Portlink as the company’s new base. “Many of our clients and our staff are based over this side of town and we wanted to stay nearby,” said Walker. As well as the added benefit of lots of parking, Walker joked that it was great to have a smooth road and kerbing, after the damaged infrastructure in Bromley.
G & A Harris Ltd is sharing its new premises with Thule, which occupies the other half of the building. Thule imports and distributes roof racks, luggage boxes and other vehicle accessories.
